Abstract

The Rabbit wants to be the strongest animal until it realizes that everyone is unique.
兔子希望成為最厲害的動物，後來它認識到每個人都是獨一無二的。

Description

In the animation short, the Tiger, the eagle and the snake proudly show off their strong abilities to a group of animals. The Tiger can leap across the river from a far distance, the eagle can fly at a high speed, and the snake can swim in the river and climb up the tree at the same time. The animals are impressed except for the Rabbit who wishes to be as strong as the Tiger, as fast as the eagle and as smart as the snake. When the Rabbit shows its digging skill, the animals laugh at it because it is too simple. The Rabbit feels insecure and unconfident. Just then, an old rabbit appears and the Rabbit shares its feeling to the old rabbit. The old rabbit educates the Rabbit about the important lesson of confidence. The Rabbit becomes confidence gradually. One day, the Tiger falls into a hole and the animals are unable to save it. When the Rabbit witnesses the accident, it calls its family immediately and they dig a tunnel together to save the Tiger. The Tiger is thankful and learns the importance of cooperation.
在這個動畫短片中，老虎、鷹和蛇驕傲地向一群動物展示了他們強大的能力。老虎可以從遠處一躍過河，鷹可以在空中自由翱翔，蛇即能在河裡游泳又會爬樹，大家都對他們卓越的表現留下了深刻的印像。兔子多麼渴望能像老虎一樣強壯，像鷹一樣自由，像蛇一樣聰明。當兔子表現出他的挖掘能力時，大家都嘲笑他，因為這太簡單了，根本不值一提，兔子感到無比尷尬和不自信。這時，一隻老兔子出現了，兔子向老兔子傾訴了自己的痛苦感受，老兔子給兔子講了如何建立信心的道理，兔子逐漸變得自信了。有一天，老虎意外掉進一個陷阱，無法出去，不得不向其他動物求救，但他們也沒辦法救他。兔子目睹了眼前所發生一切，他立即召集其他兔子來，兔子們一起挖出一條條通道，成功地把老虎救了出來。老虎很感恩，終於認識到動物之間合作的重要性。每個人都是獨一無二。

Artist Statement

I create an animation about the Chinese Lunar Year of the Rabbit because the Rabbit represents longevity and good luck. The meaning of my animation is to show that everyone is unique in their own way and encourage people to be confident. I use Toon Boom Harmony Program to animate my story.
My name is Katie Qin. I’m from Hong Kong. I graduated from Maryland Institute College of Art, Baltimore, Maryland in 2019 and earned a BFA in Graphic Design. my concentration is Illustration. Now, I’m a postgraduate student of School of Create Media at City University of Hong Kong.
我創作了中國生肖中有關兔子故事的短動畫，兔子代表長壽和吉祥。我的動畫故事寓意是，表明每個人都獨一無二，與眾不同，激發人們如何建立自信。我使用了 Toon Boom Harmony 來完成我的動畫故事。
我叫秦悅，來自香港，2019年畢業於美國馬裡蘭藝術學院，獲得平面設計學士學位，兼修插畫。 我現在是香港城市大學創意媒體學院的在讀研究生。
