Abstract
Permeation is slow and imperceptible process which is changing slowly and unconsciously that is hardly realizable and describing. Time and viewing can enlarge personal feelings on subtle changes. The environment and human beings mutually penetrate and influence each other. What is permeating us?
是什麼滲入了生命,滲入了個體?
Description
Permeate is an interactive video installation, exploring metaphors on permeation. It aims to create an immersive atmosphere which changing slowly to describe a process of permeation which is changing slowly and unconsciously that is hardly realizable. It is just like formless matters permeates into an object gradually. Humans are impacted by a kind of thought and intangible things unconsciously. In short, it is common that something happen around you, but you might not notice it immediately. But, indeed, it has changed something even has impacted us already.
Artist Statement
TAN Xingyu (b. 1996, Guangdong) has a bachelor degree in Cinema and Television, and is working towards an MFA in Creative Media at the City University of Hong Kong. Her practice explores areas related to the human and society relationship, life and literature in a metaphorical narrative, and spans across mediums including video installation, independent film and photography. Her practices have dramatic settings and colors, which metaphor the real world with unreal images.
譚星宇1996年出生於中國廣東。她修畢了影視學文學士學位後,現就讀於香港城市大學創意媒體藝術碩士。她的作品多用隱喻探索人的狀態,人與社會的關係和文學等領域,並跨越媒體包括錄像裝置、獨立電影和攝影。她常在影像中加入戲劇化的佈景和色彩,以不真實的影像畫面隱喻真實世界的感受。
