Abstract

We all have our fear, but fear of different things. Someone may fear of a specific person, an object, or even fear of fear itself. What if spacetime? If spacetime causes fear, how could do?
This project is a non-narrative animation. The elements in the animation is inspired by some symptoms of phobia. There is a main theme but not a “story”. The background of the film is about the relation between a fear feeling and spacetime.

Description

If spacetime causes fear, how could do? Since spacetime is a concept or a phenomenon in which we (human-being) are limited by it and it is essential in everyone’s lives. Hence, the film is mainly presenting a subject lost in the fear which is caused by spacetime — the essentials, one of the rules in the world.

One of the mental disorders — Phobia. I would call it a hidden disorder. Some of the patients are just acting like an ordinary person. However, once they are triggered by the factor they fear, it is not just a “scary level”, they cannot even breathe as usual. Perhaps they have a mental obstacle. For me, I thought they have a different perspective and views on how to see the world.

In this project, I have thought about how to fear of spacetime. I tried to build the atmosphere to create a fear perspective. Most importantly is how I create a world to represent phobia. Hence, the visuals in the animation are just my imagination of a phobia person who fears of spacetime.

Artist Statement

“It is an adventure. A subject that is lost in spacetime, is lost in a fog, is lost in oblivion.” These are my imagination of a phobia person who fears of spacetime.
