Description
This is one part of a reassembled film. All materials come from social media online. This is a Wechat record of a man and a woman. We cannot sense each other’s emotion when chatting online. To some extent it makes conversation more efficient by reducing “the amount of entropy.”
However, when a conversation lose its balance, it is a entropy itself: For the girl, it’s disturbing; for the boy, it’s painful.
When this private conversation is stored in the Internet as data, it can be viewed as digital entropy.
Artist Statement
ZHOU Ziyou(b,1995,Shenzhen,Guangdong), majored in Film and TV, and he is now studying in MFA creative media, City University of Hong Kong. With a foundation in image and film, Ziyou is exploring the video art, foucusing on experiments with images and videos.
The work on display is the second part of his experimental film From vison to mind, which is made by collecting audio and video materials online and recombining them.
周子游 1995年出生於廣東深圳。本科主修電影電視，現就讀於香港城市大學創意媒體MFA。有了影像方面的基礎，子游現正探索影視藝術，專注於影像的實驗。
現展出的片段是他正在製作的實驗電影 From vison to mind 的第二部分，這是一個通過收集音視頻素材並重新組合的實驗影像作品。
