Abstract
Vibromory is the unhackneyed exploration between the relationship of perceiving vibration and memories. The integration of the collected data of vibration and the empty frames introduces us to the practice of recommencing the human sensation. Through a single touch on Vibromory, the audience could be taken on a journey where memories are encoded, accumulated and retrieved subliminally, all eventuating inside the human brain at that very moment. The visual elements of the photo frame are substituted by the vibration data so as to evoke memories as a brand new perspective where the audience have not otherwise apprehended beforehand.
Artist Statement
Imagine that your pocket vibrates, what will be the first thing in your mind? When we are touching something, the process will form into unconscious memories in which they will be encoded into pieces, stored in our brain and retrieved later. It becomes a linkage among individuals and the world.
Vibromory is an installation artwork which explores the relationship between perception of vibration and memory. The artist encourages the audience to touch on the work, thereby experiencing a new perspective to perceive the world through the sense of touch.
